Slumber Party

Slumber Party

By Sam Prentice

Boys having slumber parties is one of my favourite things to draw. I love taking the typical idea of a girls sleepover, with nail painting and face masks and all that jazz and flipping it onto my boys. Gossiping about their boy crushes, reading trashy magazines and watching a classic rom-com.

Hello! I'm an Illustration undergrad at AUB, I specialise in Queer themed illustration, using bright colours and textures.

Tell us a fun fact about you. I have synethesia.

Top three clients you've worked with? I actually haven't worked professionally before so I haven't worked with any clients yet.

How did you get into illustration? I've been drawing characters and stories my whole life and it was sort of what I'd always wanted to do but I didn't have a name for it until I was about 18 and doing my art foundation and I was immediately sold.

What tools (digital or not!) do you use to create your work? I'm mostly digital these days for speed's sake but if not then pencil and gouache.

Who or what inspires you the most? Wes Anderson movies and queer illustrators like @cutedirtydog and Jack Oliver Coles.

What's your favourite website for inspiration? I live on Instagram so I get most of my inspiration from other artists on there

What would your dream project be? I want to write and illustrate a children's book about a gender non conforming boy, because something like that would've been amazing for me as a child.

How can fans keep up-to-date with your work? Instagram
