Lumps is an illustrator and designer from Cardiff, Wales and currently based in Hertfordshire. Lumps' illustrations often feature elements from the weird to the grotesque, the sublime to the ridiculous; the twisted vision of Lumps provides a contemporary take on the form.

Tell us a fun fact about you I have an obsession with cheese.

How did you get into illustration? I've always loved to draw but I ended up doing freelance Web Design after university and did illustration in my spare time. It taught me about how freelancing works and the business side of things which was great. Over time I started getting more and more illustration projects and as of 2018 I went full-time with Lumps!

Who or what inspires you the most? Illustrators like Alex Gamsu Jenkins and Pollynor really inspire me, other artists include Steven Harrington, Ralph Steadman and KAWS

What tools (digital or not!) do you use to create your work? For pen and paper drawings, I like to use use UniPin Fineliners on Bristol Board paper. For digital work I use an iPad Pro using the Adobe Draw app. All finished on Photoshop.

What's your favourite resource for inspiration? Instagram is my go-to source for inspiration and motivation with so many artists posting new work everyday.

Do you have any tips for artists thinking of doing freelance? I started by creating designs for brands, posting it online and tagging them. Some of them got in touch and we started from there.

What would your dream project be? I'd love to work with Nike on a collaboration or on a Cartoon with Adult Swim.

How can fans keep up-to-date with your work? Instagram
