At Home With... Nest Twenty Eight

Grab a glass of something chilled and have a read of our latest interview with interior influencer and owner of one of our favourite gallery walls on the whole of Instagram… Nest Twenty Eight, otherwise known as Lucinda Mitra!

Hi Lucinda! Can you tell us a bit about who you are and what you do…

I’m Lucinda Mitra and I’m an interiors blogger.

Where do you live?

I live in a village in East Sussex in a detached four bedroom house.

How would you describe your interior style?

I would describe my style as a mix of Scandi, rustic and industrial.

What’s your favourite space in the house and why?

My favourite space changes all the time, and it’s probably dictated by the seasons. At the moment, I love the dining end of my kitchen and sitting and working at my table with the sun pouring in (which is what I’m doing now as I type!)

What is your top tip for decorating your home?

I will always maintain that waiting several weeks of months depending on the scale of the decorating is the key to getting it right the first time.

When designing a room, what elements do you start with first?

I always think about the wall colour first, and then how I can incorporate art and accessories that are versatile with it.

What are your top 3 places to shop online for affordable home decor?

IKEA – love it or hate it, you can’t go wrong with the price point and timeless designs.

Argos – they have amazingly priced home décor, that looks way more expensive than it is.

And of course- Nine By Nine for unique and vibrant prints!

If you had to swap homes with someone you follow on Instagram, who would it be?

This is a great question, but a tough one, as there are so many stunning and inspirational homes, but I would probably say Laura and Nora from @_designtales_. I love the neutral rustic, Scandi tones and textures in their home and studio, it makes me swoon every time!

How do you choose art prints for your home and what advice would you give to someone who didn’t know where to start?

I choose prints by thinking of the colour palettes that I like and the mood I want to evoke in the space and then considering whether it will compliment the rest of the room. Try and mix up the type of art- if you’re into typography, try to add some photography and graphic art, for example, as you don’t want to overdo one look, as it can look laboured.
Favourite Nine By Nine print?

I love my You Got This print- the pink and blue together is gorgeous and soft, and the black adds that extra sass!
