Saskia Bueno is a UX/UI designer based in Barranquilla, Colombia. She got a degree in graphic design but discovered the world of lettering 2 years ago. She bought herself an iPad Pro and started practicing every time she could. She loves to use bright colours in her designs, and loves to combine them with flowers and plants. In her free time she also likes to watch series, go to the movies with her best friend, spend time with her family and play with her lovely pug.

Tell us a fun fact about you Everybody thinks I am younger than I look because of my voice.

How did you get into illustration? I got into lettering about 2 years ago. I used to follow many lettering artists on Instagram and I fell in love with their creations so I bought myself an iPad Pro and started to do my own letterings.

Who or what inspires you the most? Music, Flowers and motivational phrases.

What does a typical day look like for you? I am an early riser so I wake up around 6:30 am. I go to work and then by night I usually do some letterings, watch series and play SCRABBLE with my friends.

What do you do when you have a creative block? I take a break. I usually walk my crazy dog around the block, have a snack or even do some Zumba with my friends.

Top three clients you've worked with? I’ve had the pleasure to work for Revista Dinero, a magazine here in my country. I also worked with Disney Hyperion on a Book Cover and have done some gigs for a local gift shop.

What tools (digital or not!) do you use to create your work? I mostly use my iPad Pro and Procreate, but sometimes I use Photoshop and illustrator.

What's your favourite resource for inspiration? Pinterest. It’s great for looking references and inspiration.

Do you have any tips for artists thinking of doing freelance? Organize your time, don’t try to do everything, take breaks and have fun!

What would your dream project be? I can say I already did my dream project. Doing the book cover for Disney was simply magical.
